Tacoholics, the little American-Mexican cafe / bar in the middle of Leipzig’s most happening neighbourhood, Plagwitz, is a perfect place for small to medium sized events and social functions. Our 40 qm main room has a quaint cafe feeling where one can enjoy a wide range of libationary refreshments ranging from delicious David Rio brand iced-chai lattes and selectively strong espresso to creative cocktails and expertly mixed Martinis. There is also, of course, our “San Francisco-style-street food-inspired” mexican menu that will assuage any appetance.

As a venue for small, intimate events such as readings, acoustic music concerts and variety shows our location in the middle of the now world-famous Karl-Heine Straße (featured in the New York Times and the Guardian as Germany’s “Coolest Street”) is second to none. An attractive outdoor seating area provides a pleasurable break on the wide, tree-lined boulevard where the artistic inhabitants of Leipzig’s premier “Szeneviertel” can be observed. Inside, our main room can provide seating for up to 25 guests with an integrated PA System and HD Projector for multi-media presentations. For larger groups, we can provide a link-up with displays to the street so that the goings-on inside can be enjoyed under the free and open sky. Additionally, if requested, we can also provide film cameras for video recording or live-stream broadcast through our on-site WLAN connection. A second, intimate lounge in the back offers VIP or small groups necessary privacy or can act as an artist’s dressing or green room. A movable bar, podium and “cinema seating” make sight lines and intelligibility of performances effortless. To top it all off, the Straßenbahn stops directly in front of the
cafe and takes only 10 minutes to get to the main station and only 4 minutes to the Plagwitz S-Bahn Station. So there is no excuse as to why one can’t get here 😉

As an added advantage for smaller productions and semi-professional artists, our print and design department in the Green Door Studio offers the ability to design and print posters, T-Shirts, flyers etc. For small runs at a wholesale cost. We can digitally print on formats from A5 to A1 and screen print to a high quality not found with traditional ink printers. Any events found in Tacoholics can easily be promoted through our design and print business. American-born designer Lee Thomas Parker is a veteran of the “guerrila marketing” print and design school of advertisment with over 15 years of working with artists from all cultures and backgrounds.

The location, set-up, size and ability to market events along with the expertise and passion for small, interesting artistic projects that the owners bring into the mix make Tacoholics a perfect place to stage your next concert, reading, whiskey tasting… or whatever crazy idea you might have. Just give us a call – we are open to anything!!
